With the rapid growth of online education, demand is growing for skilled developers of web-based learning. This program is designed to provide students with usable skills and a pedagogical basis for developing quality online learning materials. Students will learn the practical skills for elearning development and will also be introduced to how their role relates to the team based approach in educational design.

Areas of focus include collaborating with subject matter experts, developing and maintaining web and multi-media content, recommending appropriate elearning strategies and materials based on learning theory, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, accessibility legislation, copyright legislation, and industry standards.

Employment Opportunities

Graduates of this program may work in industries such as education, training, financial, retail, health care, trades and consulting and may be employed in roles such as elearning designer, rapid elearning developer, learning specialist, elearning consultant, elearning course author, training specialist author, learning and development specialist and training content developer.
