Modification & Improvement of Biomass Liquid Nutrient Extraction Process for use in Making Liquid Fertilizer

Cennatek

Challenge/Opportunity:

Cennatek developed a technical process that will improve the quality of agricultural residues as a source of fuel pellets. This has led to the development of the patent-pending BioLine process - a biomass liquid nutrient extraction.

The Bioline process takes the nutrient extraction process one step further by recycling the extracted nutrients and through additional refinement, produces a line of commercial grade liquid fertilizers that are in demand by Ontario farmers.

Solution/Collaboration:

This BioLine process requires further testing, modification and improvement for various feedstocks. Researchers from the Bio-Industrial Process Research Centre will work with Cennatek to pilot, automate, optimize and demonstrate the BioLine process for new products and applications.

The validated and optimized process will be used for construction of a demonstration production facility in Ontario
