Design & Prototype of Vibration Sensor Insulator Mount

Challenge/Opportunity:

JAtech Services uses vibration sensors to transmit accelerometer data to a primary receiver node where it is analyzed for predictive and preventive maintenance purposes. These sensors are sometime mounted permanently or temporarily. When mounting these sensors, there has been difficulties using the sensors in higher temperatures.

Solution/Collaboration:

A vibration insulator was designed and fabricated to position the sensor away from the heated surface to avoid damage and to ensure accurate transmission and recording of vibration data. Magnets were inserted into the mount to allow for seamless testing of metal components. The prototype mounts can easily be attached to vibration sensors when needed and have been tested in the field.
