Challenge/Opportunity:
Our research considers basic questions about effective online teaching.
- What do students want in an online teacher?
- Which strategies do they appreciate?
- Do students prefer synchronous to asynchronous learning, or a combination of both?
- Which practices from teachers will students say increase their chances of success?
Solution/Collaboration:
Knowledge of students' perceptions of effective online teaching will help faculty design courses to best motivate and retain students.
