Discussion Circle High Intermediate

The Discussion Circle component of the ESL/EAP program is unique to the Lambton Institute of English. One of the biggest challenges for English language learners is socializing and adapting to Canadian culture. With this challenge in mind, students enrolled in the program will meet in small groups of international and Canadian students in order to discuss a variety of general topics. Under the guidance and facilitation of the language lab technologist, students can fine-tune their public speaking techniques, learn to debate and defend their viewpoints, and improve speaking self-confidence. Some lessons may be off-campus, allowing students to interact in an authentic environment. The goal of this component of the program is to increase student confidence when interacting in larger social situations in Canadian culture. (CEFR B2)
