Speaking/Listening High Intermediate

This speaking and listening course has been developed for high-intermediate students who are non-native speakers of the English language. In the classroom, students apply language to a variety of speaking and listening activities of interest to themselves and the world they live in. The course evaluation places an emphasis on applying new vocabulary (content vocabulary and Academic Word List) to writing projects The language lab portion is designed to apply the concepts taught in the lecture. Students are required to demonstrate these skills through a series of hands-on exercises. An online extension tool is used in the computer lab. This course is part of the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program. As such, it would also be an excellent component add-on course for international students at Lambton College who are on pathways to higher education and who would like to supplement their diploma program with material from an EAP curriculum. (CEFR B2).
