Lambton College and Freedom 55 Financial: Renewing the Sarnia campus

SARNIA, February 10, 2017 – The Envision Tomorrow capital campaign for renewal of the Sarnia campus through academic programming, facilities for student athletics, and applied research opportunities has received a big boost, thanks to a $75,000 commitment from Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life.

“As members of this community, we know Lambton College graduates contribute to the well-being of the entire region, so we’re pleased to make a commitment that will help enrich the opportunities for Lambton students to pursue their education and stay healthy on campus,” says Pete Aarssen, Regional Director, Freedom 55 Financial, a division of London Life Insurance Company.

“Our new Athletics & Fitness Complex is being designed to enhance student life on our campus, and enable the College to provide a greater range of activities outside the classroom, with a strong focus on mental health and well-being,” said Judith Morris, President & CEO, Lambton College. “This donation is an extraordinary commitment to our community and investment in the success of Lambton College students.”

The Lambton College Foundation’s Envision Tomorrow Capital Campaign launched in June 2015. The campaign has a strong focus on infrastructure, including the construction of two new campus buildings – the highly anticipated and newly named NOVA Chemicals Health & Research Centre and a new Athletics & Fitness Complex. The campaign also supports an Equipment Renewal Program that will expand student and community capacity for experiential learning and corporate training.
