Lambton College to add exciting new line of programs to fall 2019 roster

SARNIA, October 29, 2018 – Lambton College is pleased to announce that a new lineup of innovative programs have been added to their fulltime roster for fall 2019.

In total, the College is promoting six new programs including four full-time diploma programs, an Ontario College Certificate, and a revised 12 month fast-track diploma program.

Some of the exciting new programs catching the attention of incoming students include:

Heating, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician

Offered for the first-time ever at Lambton College, this two-year co-op program was designed to follow the prescribed TSSA Gas Technician 3 and Gas Technician 2 syllabus, preparing student to write external certifications. Graduates will also be eligible to write the Refrigeration Handling Certification - Ozone Depletion Prevention. Go to lambtoncollege.ca/hvac for more information.

Chemical Lab Technician

Students enrolled in this highly specialized program will learn how to properly use and care for laboratory equipment. They will be taught how to prepare for and perform chemical and biological tests and experiments. Students will learn the proper techniques for recording, compiling and sampling data as well as how to interpret, analyze and report on it afterwards. Esports Entrepreneurship & Administration

One of the most anticipated programs in the Ontario college system, this new offering allows students to take their passion for competitive gaming and transform it into a career. Students learn general business skills while developing a strong foundational knowledge of the emerging esports industry. Go to lambtoncollege.ca/esea for more information.

Recreation Therapy

Based on the belief that play, recreation and leisure are essential to achieving an individual’s optimal health and sense of wellbeing, this program utilizes volunteering and hands-on learning by way of field placements and community experiences to round out the learning experience. Students will also have the opportunity to receive additional specialized training throughout the program, such as Gentle Persuasive Approach and Mental Health First Aid. Power Engineering Techniques

This one-year co-op Ontario College Certificate provides the academic curriculum needed to prepare for the TSSA 4th Class Operating Engineers 4A and 4B Certification exams. Successful students will also receive nine months of steam time reduction towards the same certificate. Those who are eligible and complete an approved co-op position will also be credited with the final three months of practical time required for the 4th Class certification.
