Upon request, the college will provide a copy of this policy in an alternate format.


To provide a safe and secure working environment.

To provide evidence of employment with Lambton College.

To properly protect the College, its assets and employees.

To provide a single, cost efficient and controlled document that can be used for security, building access, library access, and government rates for accommodation and car rentals.


It is the policy of Lambton College that all full-time employees have an employee photo identification card. Employee Photo identification cards are the sole property of Lambton College and must be presented or surrendered upon request (i.e. by Security).


All full-time employees must obtain a Lambton College Employee Photo Identification Card as part of their regular orientation to the College community. Each must maintain such documents while their affiliation continues with the College.

Human Resources will notify full-time employees of the process and the dates, schedules, etc. for the initial implementation of the process and will issue the Identification Card to employees.

Printed on the front of the Photo Identification Card will be: the employee name, employee ID#, and the employee start date at Lambton College.

Employee Photo Identification Cards shall not be defaced or modified in any way.

Lost, damaged or stolen Employee Photo Identification Cards are the responsibility of the individuals identified and are replaced at the Human Resources Office for a fee unless the replacement is necessitated by change of name or change of identification. Employee Photo Identification Cards are to be replaced as soon as possible. Employee Photo Identification Card holders must immediately report such losses to the Human Resources Department, B106, at 519-542-7751 ext. 3710.

The Employee Photo Identification Card must be turned in to the Supervisor for disposal upon cessation of employment with Lambton College. It is the responsibility of the supervisor to obtain Employee Photo Identification Cards from employees leaving the employ of the college for any reason and returning it to the Human Resources Department for destruction.
