Lambton College endeavours to provide the most efficient and effective use of College facilities in order to meet the delivery requirements of all programs and the ancillary and administrative needs of the College based on the College Strategic Plan within a context of fiscal responsibility.

College Facilities Management Committee (CFMC)

A cross-functional committee will develop and implement a space allocation plan to meet academic and administration activity requirements. This Committee,through the Chair, will make recommendations to the Executive Committee regarding the allocation of space to programs and supporting activities.

The Committee is composed of:

  • Director, Facilities Management (Chair)
  • Vice President, Finance & Administration (Vice Chair)
  • Vice President, Student Success & Campus Services
  • Four Deans
  • Director, Marketing, Business Development & Innovation
  • Director, Student Success
  • Director, Information & Education Technology
  • Director, Campus Services
  • Registrar
  • Faculty Representative
  • Support Staff Representative
  • Resource Staff:
    • Scheduling Officer
    • Committee Secretary

The Committee will operate under the following guidelines:

  • The CFMC will meet at least every two months or more frequently at the call of the Chair.
  • Approved minutes will be kept of all meetings and posted to the Committee webpage on the College intranet.
  • Each member has one vote with the exception of resource persons.Subcommittees will be struck as deemed necessary.

All College Space

  1. College space is a valuable corporate asset strategically allocated by the Executive Committee in consultation with the College Facilities Management Committee.
  2. College Space is categorized into one of three categories; academic, administrative, and ancillary space.
  3. When space is allocated to a school or department, the respective manager is accountable to ensure that the space is utilized to its maximum efficiency.

Space is defined as follows:

Academic Space
Academic space refers to the classrooms and labs used to deliver instructional activity at the College.
Administrative Space
Administrative space refers to offices; administrative space; common areas, including grounds and cafeteria area; and any area that provides administrative services to the College.
Ancillary Space
Ancillary space refers to all other dedicated space that provides a supporting role for College activities or provides external services operating under the umbrella of the College.
