Policy

  1. All final tests and exams are to be held during the exam period scheduled at the end of the semester.
  2. There shall be no tests or exams during or outside of scheduled class time during the five College working days preceding the scheduled exam period at the end of the semester.
    1. Programs delivered with a 7-1-7 (weeks) structure, apprenticeship programs, and other programs of a shortened duration – 12 weeks or less – are exempt from this policy.
    2. Courses that are lab- or clinical-based or have a significant lab or clinical component at the end of the semester, or that have a significant skills assessment component in the evaluation of the students may be exempted from the application of this policy.
     
  3. It is recognized that certain exigencies (e.g. special facilities or equipment requirements, scheduling of group and individual presentations and skills assessments, shortened term schedules) may warrant exceptions to the above statements.
  4. Exceptions may occur with:
    1. the explicit, written permission of the Dean responsible for the course and;
    2. the inclusion in the course outline of information describing the exceptional timing of the evaluation(s).
