Event

September 30 to December 10

This museum-style exhibit provides a timeline from 1620 to 2011 showing the development of the Residential School System alongside the formation of Canada, the escalation of government policy as it pertains to Indigenous affairs, and the establishment of the Indian Act. It lays out hundreds of years of colonization and settler colonial strategy to eliminate and assimilate Indigenous Peoples for the benefit of settlers and the settler government.

This exhibit also features pillars that outline the Residential School System experience and highlight the importance of Truth, Reconciliation, and healing.
