    Women’s Day @ Lambton

    The world comes together for International Women's Day (IWD) on March 8 to celebrate women's achievements and reinforce a commitment to women's equality. This day is a globally recognized event celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and girls all over the world. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.

    This year’s theme is #EmbraceEquity

    Special Keynote featuring Desiree Philips

    Lambton College is excited to welcome inspiring keynote speaker by Desiree Philips.

    Desiree is a Registered Psychotherapist, senior trainer, and equity consultant. Desiree uses her expertise in training, counselling, and advocacy along with a passion for equity to design and deliver various training and consultation activities worldwide for numerous organizations across a range of sectors. During her keynote, Desiree will discuss a number of equity focused concepts that highlight the unique journeys of women of various intersecting identities and the ways in which individuals can practice empathy, inclusion and equity in their personal and professional interactions with women in their spaces.

    Yoga Session

    12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
    Fitness Centre

    In honour of Women’s Day @ Lambton, the College is pleased to welcome Tara Duff Cloes who will be facilitating a Yoga Session in the Fitness Centre from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

    Tara is a Lambton grad, recently retired from 33 years in the steel fabricating business and has been teaching yoga and meditation since 2007. Tara has a unique way of blending yoga, energy work and relaxation to make you feel like you are walking on a cloud.

    During her Women’s Day session, Tara will focus on working through some of the additional stresses that female students encounter, particularly those who are balancing their studies while raising children.

    Donation Drive: Feminine Hygiene Products

    Room D1-204

    Members of the College community are encouraged to donate feminine hygiene products in honour of International Women’s Day. All products will be donated directly to the Lion’s Heart, Lambton’s campus food bank and student clothing closet. Donations can be dropped off on the benches in front of Room D1-204.

    TD Webinar: TD Wealth for Women

    Thursday, March 9
    12 - 1 p.m.

    Join the Lambton College Alumni Association and affinity partner, TD Insurance, on Thursday, March 9th from 12:00 - 1:00 pm EST live on Microsoft Teams for a session
    focusing on 10 Lessons that can guide women on their path to Financial Security.
    This event provides financial lessons applicable from young adulthood to retirement
    and leaving a legacy.

    It will help young adults learn good financial habits, provide guidance throughout
    key life events, and discuss the importance of financial literacy.
