This hands-on competency-based micro-credential introduces learners to the necessary conditions for safe transfers and lifts. After successful completion of this micro-credential, the learner should be able to recognize the importance of good back care while practicing correct lifting techniques; differentiate between a transfer and lift as it relates to resident care; recognize the importance of good body mechanics; and consult the applicable legislation for reference to worker safety.
