Lambton College Foundation Celebrates Over $822,000 in Scholarships and Bursaries

SARNIA, May 21, 2025 – The Lambton College Foundation is celebrating a landmark year of student success and donor generosity. The lifechanging impact of donor contributions was evident at this year’s Academic Award Ceremonies with 684 students receiving more than $822,000 in scholarships and bursaries.

Krystyna Kahnert, Manager, The Lambton College Foundation, says support from donors extends far beyond financial relief. Statistics show that recipients of a Lambton College scholarship have the greatest chance of successfully completing their studies – the retention rate of a scholarship recipient sits at an impressive 98%.

“When you donate to our scholarship and bursary program, you’re telling our students that you believe in them and want them to succeed,” says Kahnert. “The result? Remarkable perseverance, incredible accomplishments, and bright futures.”

Many of these students have overcome significant challenges, and with the encouragement of a scholarship or bursary, they continue to push forward with renewed confidence and ambition.

“Our program is about more than money,” she says. “It’s about empowerment. It’s about telling a student, ‘I believe in you,’ even if you’ve never met them. That impact can’t be measured but it’s felt every single day on our campus.”

Kahnert says donor generosity continues to help hundreds of students succeed, and The Foundation welcomes new and returning donors who want to play a part in helping students achieve their educational goals and pursue their dreams.

In a further effort to grow the Scholarship & Bursary Program, The Foundation recently launched its second Funding Futures lottery. The first 50/50 Draw successfully raised $11,400, with one lucky winner taking home half of the total funds raised. Tickets are currently available for purchase at lambtoncollege.ca/5050. All money raised through the lottery will go towards the creation of more scholarships for Lambton College students, ensuring they have the resources they need to succeed.
