What is Co-op?
Co-operative education formally integrates a student's academic studies with work experience. Students alternate between study and employment, gaining valuable, hands-on skills. This experience is both approved and monitored by the College.
Students also benefit from Lambton Colleges Co-op and Career Advisors, who offer guidance, resources, and support for those eligible for co-op placements.
- Opportunities are competitive - employers make the final hiring decisions
- Students are not automatically placed into positions
Internships and co-ops vary in length:
- Internship: Up to 180 hours of practical experience during a term
- Co-op: At least 420 hours of work experience in one term
