SARNIA, June 9, 2026 – A sense of pride and possibility filled the Progressive Auto Sales Arena as Lambton College celebrated the Class of 2026 during its 59th Annual Convocation.

More than 1,600 graduates crossed the stage during two ceremonies held on Tuesday, June 9. A total of 2,300 Lambton College graduates will enter the workforce in Sarnia-Lambton and beyond.

In his address to the Class of 2026, Lambton College President & CEO Rob Kardas spoke to the crucial role colleges and their graduates play in providing stability in an increasingly uncertain world.

“It isn’t just new graduates who are grappling with unknowns and wondering what might be coming around the corner,” he said. “A lot of us in different stages of life and circumstances are dealing with uncertainty right now for a huge range of reasons.”

“And in uncertain times, I can tell you, we all look for what we know is certain.”

“Lambton College graduates, that is you.”

Kardas emphasized that graduates will make a meaningful and immediate impact through the essential roles they take on across industries and communities.

“As college graduates, you are the ones who will do the jobs that form the backbone of our communities,” he said. “The roles you take on will shape our health, our safety, our prosperity, even our happiness.”

He also spoke to the confidence communities can place in Lambton College graduates.

My hope is not reserved for the future,” he said. “My hope is right now. It’s right here.”
