SARNIA, June 3, 2026 – Lambton College will recognize community leadership and a lifetime of service this June as Myles Vanni, former Executive Director of The Inn of the Good Shepherd, receives an honorary diploma in the Social Service Worker program.
Vanni, who will also serve as a Convocation speaker, is being honoured for his decades-long commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals and strengthening the Sarnia-Lambton community through compassion, advocacy, and service.
“Myles Vanni’s leadership has had a profound and lasting impact on the Sarnia-Lambton community,” said Rob Kardas, President & CEO, Lambton College. “Through his dedication to service, compassion for others, and commitment to creating meaningful supports for those facing complex challenges, he exemplifies the values we strive to instill in our students. It is a privilege to recognize his contributions with this honorary diploma, and to have him share his wisdom with our graduates who are about to embark on their own careers in our communities.”
Over a distinguished two-decade career as Executive Director of The Inn of the Good Shepherd, Vanni played a significant role in shaping one of the region’s most trusted community organizations. During his tenure, he helped advance key initiatives, including the development of Good Shepherd’s Lodge shelter and transitional housing, the Adopt-A-Family program, and a free mobile produce market that improves access to fresh, healthy food across the region.
“I’ve been blessed to have been able to work at The Inn and in Scouting before that, jobs that I have been able to be passionate about and that have given me a chance to make a difference,” said Vanni. “Lambton College is such an important and impactful institution in our community, so it is quite humbling to be recognized with an honorary diploma and a chance to speak to the graduates.”
The honorary diploma recognizes individuals whose achievements and contributions reflect the values of Lambton College and serve as inspiration to graduates as they begin their careers.
Vanni will address graduates during one of Lambton College’s 59th Annual Convocation ceremonies. Also addressing graduates this year is Scott Brown, Coordinator of Lambton College’s Fire Science Technology program. Brown will speak to the importance of purpose, continuous growth, and striving for excellence in career and community.
Lambton College will host two Convocation ceremonies on June 9, celebrating the academic achievements of graduates as they enter the workforce in Sarnia-Lambton and beyond.
